On 1 May 2011 Marcus M. Hotze joined the Berlin office of HEUSSEN Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH. Mr. Hotze (38) is qualified as lawyer in Germany and is a specialist for copyright and media law. He previously worked for Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft in Berlin where he was co-head of the nationwide practice group „Media & Advertising“.

Endowed chair for the law of renewable energies – HEUSSEN actively engaged in EBS Law School
The newly founded EBS Law School in Wiesbaden is pleased to announce its first endowed professorship: together with HEUSSEN Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH the EBS Law School has taken the initiative to build up a chair with focus on the law of renewable energies. Short time work: Boom due to the support of the „Konjunkturpaket II“
Short time work, a possibility to reduce labor costs, which has not been used fre-quently in the past, experiences a boom at present. Particularly, since this measure, which intends temporary relief of companies in times of economic crisis, is strongly supported by the federal government’s „Konjunkturpaket II“, more and more companies try to avoid precipitant layoffs by means of short time work.
In „Der Betrieb“, issue 17 p. 902 et seqq. Prof. Dr. Renate Dendorfer and Thomas Krebs give an overview over the tax-based, labor law and social law related require-ments for short time work and short time compensation. The federal government’s latest measures as well as the particularities of the temporary employment sector are taken into consideration.

Implementation of the „Konjunkturpaket II“ (economic stimulus package) for Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects for school renovations

HEUSSEN opens office in Brussels
On 13 November 2008 HEUSSEN Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH opened its first office in Brussels. The new office constitutes the fifth business location besides Munich, Berlin, Frankfurt and Stuttgart.
The Brussels office is run by Reinhold Kopp, specialist solicitor for labor law, who is also active in our Berlin office.
HEUSSEN is establishing a new practice group for Public Affairs and Regulations in Belgium’s capital.

Modernization of the limited liability company law
On 23 October Germany’s Federal President signed the Act to Modernize the Limited Liability Company Law and to Combat Abuse (MoMiG).
In accordance with Art 25 MoMiG the law will come into force on 1 November 2008.

Sibeth founding partner joins Heussen
Corporate Lawyer Dr. Georg Anders recently joined our Munich office. Mr. Anders was among the founding partners of the law firm Sibeth after the breakup of the law office Arcon and now joined HEUSSEN, also as partner.
Mr. Anders started to work for Schidt-Sibeth Heisse Weisskopf Kursaw in 1995, which later became Arcon, and made partner five years later. At Sibeth Mr. Anders together with Dr. Andreas Kloyer and Cornelia Weber, made up the corporate team of the law firm. Among his clients was Aufwind Schmack when receiving financial support.
Along with Mr. Anders HEUSSEN welcomes two further additions to its Corporate team, thereby increasing its size to 22 lawyers.
