M.C.L. (Master of Comparative Law), Indiana University, School of Law

Marcus Schriefers has been a partner in the Stuttgart office of our law firm since January 2011. He started his practice in the area of corporate and antitrust law, where he worked for during the first ten years of his professional life. In the cause of client development, logistics and transport law became more and more prominent. Today his main emphasis is logistics, so the physical movement of goods on land, water or air. The second emphasis is the contractual conception of projects regarding distribution, starting with agents up to franchise systems. Sometimes both areas are covered jointly, so the physical movement of products from one hand in line with the legal framework for that kind of distribution on the other hand.

Marcus Schriefers works predominantly in the area of drafting contracts. He also assists with the respective projects, for example the entering into a joint venture, the procedures for outsourcing a logistics department or creating a new concept for a business in Germany or Europe. In individual cases, Marcus Schriefers also undertakes representation of clients in court.

Moreover, Marcus Schriefers is involved with the International Union of Lawyers (Union Internationale des Avocats), one of the largest international lawyer organizations that concerns itself especially with the defence of, and also the further development of, the rights and professional conditions of the legal profession.

Marcus Schriefers lectures at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, and the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg, Mannheim, in the area of logistics
