Partner Dr. Franz Clemens Leisch and Team among Germany's Top Lawyers for Compliance by WiWo


In the latest survey by WirtschaftsWoche on the "most renowned law firms and lawyers for compliance," Dr. Franz Clemens Leisch was recommended particularly frequently by the lawyers surveyed. He and the team are thus among the top addresses for compliance in Germany. 

Dr Leisch's work focuses on setting up compliance management systems and internal control systems, conducting group-wide compliance risk assessments and implementing processes to prevent fraud, corruption and money laundering. The design of whistleblower systems and compliance management in the supply chain are further key areas. Dr Leisch also has extensive experience in internal investigations in the areas of corruption, financial sanctions, fraud, money laundering and discrimination. His corporate law advice covers all corporate governance issues. Depending on the mandate, the team also includes colleagues with compliance experience from other practice areas such as antitrust, IT or finance/funds. This is very well received by clients and the market, which is reflected in the WiWo best list. 

The corporate department, which also includes the compliance team, has been steadily expanded in recent years. This also applies to the interfaces with the investment funds practice with partner Nicole Alexander-Huhle, M.B.L.-HSG and partner Clemens Richter (both Munich) and, most recently, Wolfgang K. Meding (Frankfurt) with a focus on corporate/M&A and project business with China. 

For the best list, the Handelsblatt Research Institute (HRI) asked 1,400 lawyers from 183 law firms to name their most renowned colleagues for compliance and white-collar crime law. A jury of experts then filtered out 33 law firms with 51 lawyers from the nominations as part of a detailed evaluation procedure for compliance.
