Christoph Kannengießer
Christoph Kannengießer works for the Berlin office of our law firm. His main profession is Chief Executive Officer of the German-African Business Association. The focal points of his law practice, which he started in 1995, comprise government relations, consulting services for foundations and associations as well as special matters in public law (incl. constitutional law, labor promotion legislation, right of residence and work permit laws). Add to that his vast experience in a variety of legal and political fields, foundation and association management and public affairs.
Since 1995, Christoph Kannengießer has held positions of leadership in associations and foundations, incl. the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), the Confederation of German Employers’ Associations (BDA), the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (Deputy Chairman) and Markenverband, the German Trade Mark Association (Chief Executive). With much of his legal career spent on working for foundations, Mr. Kannengießer has also served in a number of important public functions. These include Chairman of the Board of Directors of the German Federal Employment Agency and membership in the Independent Immigration Commission (“Unabhängige Kommission Zuwanderung”, also known as the Süßmuth Commission) and in the Council of Experts for Immigration and Integration.
Christoph Kannengießer is also co-author of the constitutional law comment (“Grundgesetzkommentar”) by Schmidt-Bleibtreu, Hofmann, Henneke.
