Prof. Dr. Gerhard Pischel has extensive experience in the field of German and EU Antitrust Law. He advises companies and industry associations in antitrust compliance (in particular with respect to mergers, distribution and co-operation agreements), the enforcement of and defense against claims based on Antitrust Law, proceedings before the German Federal Cartel Office (in particular mergers and official infringement investigations), internal investigations and the co-ordination of international merger-proceedings.
Since many years, he additionally supports clients in drafting agreements, in particular with respect to distribution agreements, in developing and implementing international distribution structures and in negotiating complex out-of-court settlements.
Gerhard Pischel frequently publishes on issues of Antitrust Law and drafting of agreements, has written a book on drafting agreements in English ("Vertragsenglisch"), co-edited the Handbook on Drafting and Negotiation of Agreements ("Handbuch Vertragsgestaltung und Vertragsmanagement") and the Handbook on Compliance for Industry Associations ("Compliance für Wirtschaftsverbände"), is lecturer for EU Antitrust Law at the University of Munich, Germany and for distribution law as well as contract English at the University of Applied Sciences Konstanz. He inter alia is member of the Association of German Antitrust Lawyers ("Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht e.V.") and the Munich Association of Antitrust Lawyers ("Münchner Kartellrechtsforum e.V.").
Since 2020 Gerhard Pischel is listed as one of the top lawyers for Competition / Antitrust Law by “Best Lawyers” and “Handelsblatt” (Germany business newspaper).
