Nicole Alexander-Huhle is a lawyer and partner at HEUSSEN Munich and a member of the Corporate and Real Estate practice groups. She advises clients on investment and regulatory law as well as on the implementation of sustainability / ESG issues in the financial services sector. Previously, she worked in-house for 10 years in a securities and a real estate investment company as in-house lawyer and head of the legal department.
In the area of investment and regulatory law, Ms Alexander-Huhle specialises in advising on investment law in accordance with the German Investment Act (Kapitalanlagegesetzbuch, “KAGB”). She advises open-ended and closed-ended securities and real estate funds (AIF) on all legal issues related to the activities of an investment company and the set up and management of investment funds. This includes advising on compliance and outsourcing issues, obtaining BaFin approval and (cross-border) distribution. Supporting clients in structuring and launching new products, taking into account the administrative practice of BaFin, is also an important part of Ms Alexander-Huhle's work.
In the area of sustainability / ESG, Ms Alexander-Huhle supports financial market participants in the implementation of the EU Action Plan on Sustainable Finance and the various requirements resulting from the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) and Taxonomy Regulation. This includes support with ESG reporting obligations as well as the structuring and launch of sustainable securities or real estate funds. Ms Alexander-Huhle is particularly interested in supporting clients on their way to a corporate concept taking sustainability aspects into account (e.g. in private wealth or portfolio management).
Her clients include investment companies, fund initiators, portfolio managers and other financial service providers.
Ms Alexander-Huhle is co-author of the "Frankfurter Kommentar zum Kapitalanlagerecht", Volume 1, KAGB.
