In 1998 PricewaterhouseCoopers Veltins was founded in co-operation withPricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the world's largest auditing and tax firm. Whilst operating under the name of PwC Veltins, HEUSSEN expanded quickly by combining with various different practices or individual partners of renowned legal partnerships, that have decades of experience and tradition.
As a result of the tightening of independence laws for accounting firms (the SEC regulations, Sarbanes Oxley Act, Revised Balance Sheet Regulations) HEUSSEN decided to become independent of PwC. In the course of becoming independent, the firm was re-named HEUSSEN Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH in 2003. Prof. Dr. Heussen is one of the "leading lawyers" worldwide.
Since 2005 we are working closely together with HEUSSEN B.V. in Amsterdam.
Since 2011, the prestigious Best Lawyers/Handelsblatt awards have adorned our firm. A tribute that underscores our dedicated commitment to providing first-class legal advice. Likewise, we are proud to have been continuously represented in the prestigious JUVE Handbook since 2011.
We have also been present in the prestigious Legal 500 ranking year after year since 2010. This continued recognition reinforces our ongoing pursuit of excellence and solidifies our position as a leading law firm.
We are a member of the international network Multilaw with more than 10,000 lawyers in more than 75 countries and more than 150 business centers worldwide.
Multilaw was named "Global Network of the Year 2017" by the renowned magazine The Lawyer.
